Canvas Day: What is New with 'New Gradebook'? Community of Practice Meeting

Carrie Saarinen
Carrie Saarinen is an EdD student at Northeastern University studying organizational leadership. She worked as an IT/ID professional in an academic department as well as a central IT department, noticing that the different models impacted the ways she was able to contribute to the institution, thus  has been investigating the roles and responsibilities of campus IT/ID professionals in higher education for the last four years.

Aside from her academic pursuits, Carrie works for an educational software company (Instructure, Inc.) that produces learning management systems. Her work includes meeting and working with IT/ID professionals, managers and academic leaders at hundreds of different organizations across the country, an opportunity to observe and learn about the evolving role of the campus IT professional.

Carrie earned a bachelors degree in management from Curry College in Milton, MA and a masters degree in education at Salem State University in Salem, MA. She is a long-time member of NERCOMP (an EDUCAUSE affiliate) participating in regional workshops and annual events.
