Event Overview
Do you want to improve your ability to quickly and effectively respond to incidents such as ransomware attacks? The US Department of Defense (DOD), Cybersecurity & Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), and other organizations recommend tabletop exercises as a way to effectively do this.

The morning session consists of a 3-hour tabletop (TTX) designed - using higher education use cases and a simulated phishing/ransomware event - to educate on the capabilities and cloud services you can use to detect, respond, and recover from a cyber event. Participants will use two scenarios to determine desired capabilities to address each phase of the NIST Incident Response (IR) process and identify cloud services available to meet their requirements.

Participants will work in small groups as an "Incident Response Team" along with a facilitator. The workshop has a mix of presentations to set the context, small group interaction, then report-out to the participants for each of the two scenarios, followed by a wrap-up. The exercises do not require hands-on technology.

Session Outcomes:

Participants will:
 - Engage in and learn how to use tabletop exercises as part of an "Incident Response Team" approach
 - Learn about some strategies for incident response
 - Walk away with playbooks and templates to facilitate incident response at their schools
