The presenter will describe how you can help faculty create a course that students can take entirely face-to-face, entirely online, or as a combination of the 2 learning environments, as needed.

Teaching Online: Flying Solo
Speaker: Jonathan (J-Jay) Araullo, Instructional Designer, Office of Distance Education, Boston University

Trying to understand why educators in higher education hesitate or simply refuse to consider using technology as a teaching tool was my motivation for personally going through the process of converting my face-to-face course to a blended/flip course. As a result of switching hats from instructional designer to faculty, I began to see why faculty hesitate to use or reject the use of technology as a teaching tool. In this session, I will share how this new insight has enabled me to anticipate and address these concerns as I continue to work with educators in my role as instructional designer.
