Engaging Students in Success - An Online Summer Course- Webinar

Speaker: Laura Kohl

Laura is Associate Director of Library Services at Bryant University, charged with oversight of all public services of the library.  Laura earned her undergraduate degree in Anthropology from Boston University, a Master in Library and Information Studies from the University of Rhode Island and a graduate certificate in Instructional Design from UMASS Boston.  Along with her role in the library, Laura has been teaching and collaborating with faculty to effectively incorporate technology in the classroom, as well as leading the electronic portfolio initiative on campus.  Laura has taught a professional development online course at Simmons College and is the co-creator of an online student success course for first-year students at Bryant University.



Speaker:  Stephen Payne

Stephen is an E-learning Specialist at Bryant University, working in the Office of Faculty Development and Innovation. Stephen earned his B.A. in Business Administration in 1998 and a Certificate in Information Systems in 1999 from the University of New Brunswick located in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada. In addition to his education in Canada, Stephen recently completed a graduate certificate in Instructional Design from UMASS Boston in 2015. Stephen has been involved in the online delivery of several of the Graduate School programs since joining Bryant in 2008. He has been collaborating with faculty, various departments, and organizations at Bryant to design, develop and deliver robust E-learning material. Most recently, Stephen has been providing support and expertise in the use of technology in the classroom. Stephen also serves as the main support contact for Bryant's LMS (Blackboard) system and is the co-creator of an online student success course, developed for incoming first-years.
