Every School Has a Computer Lab
Speaker: David Blezard
David Blezard is a Senior IT Manager within Academic Technology at the University of New Hampshire. David has managed the Student Computing Clusters at UNH since 1994 and has overseen many transitions and changes in services and technologies during that time. The Academic Computing Systems group that he manages supports the majority of the computer classrooms, computer labs, and related facilities at UNH. In addition, David supports other academic and technology initiatives at the University ranging from rich media creation and delivery to project management systems to web server infrastructure. David has been a frequent contributor to both the NERCOMP annual conference and various SIGs. Two major new efforts he is helping coordinate are implementation of Virtual Desktop Infrastructure and a review of existing student computing and technology services at the University.
Speaker: Thom Cox
Thom Cox is currently Manager of Library IT Services for Tisch Library at Tufts University where he leads a team of talented professionals providing IT infrastructure, web, and helpdesk services. Thom’s diverse background includes experience in higher education as well as corporate start-up’s and mid-sized companies, and includes expertise in leadership, project management, front-end web development, interactive and user experience design, and instruction. Thom sees innovation and creativity in IT as a cause and chairs the Innovation and Creativity in IT Affinity Group at Tufts. He also co-chairs the IT Leaders Forum for the university. Thom has had the pleasure of presenting at HighEdWeb, Internet Librarian, and NELINET. When he is not traversing the IT landscape with his colleagues at Tufts, Thom can be found performing jazz guitar in the Boston area.
Speaker: Mark Frydenberg
Mark Frydenberg is a Senior Lecturer of Computer Information Systems at Bentley University in Waltham, MA and the Director of its Learning and Technology Sandbox. He is also a contributing author of Discovering Computers 2014 and author of Web 2.0 Concepts and Applications, both published by Cengage Learning as part of the Shelly/Cashman Series. A classroom educator and innovator, Mark’s research focuses on tools for collaborative learning. He has spoken at academic and professional conferences, and faculty development events throughout the United States and Europe.
Speaker: Margarita Alicia Saez
Margarita Alicia Saez is the Manager of Operations, the Academic Technology Center, the Library, and Online Learning at Bentley University.
Speaker: Jim Strohecker
Jim Strohecker is the Manager of Classroom Technology Services at Union College in Schenectady NY, and has worked at the college for over 13 years. He is responsible for 43 electronic classrooms and 7 seminar rooms, between 15 buildings on the campus. This includes 110 Macintosh computers and 160 PCs. In addition to managing the computers in the classrooms, he is also responsible for all AV equipment design and installations in these electronic classrooms, including the Crestron/Extron programming and is a certified Crestron DMC-Engineer. Prior to coming to Union College he was the Technical Support Manager of a TV Listings company in Glens Falls NY. Prior to that he worked 5 years as an Apple Service Technician at an Apple Reseller in Latham NY, servicing the entire line of Apple equipment.
