IT and Purchasing: A Strategic Alliance-Webinar
Speaker: Lisa Bryk
Lisa Bryk is the Assistant Director of Operations for the ITS Department at Siena College. In her role, she provides oversight and administration of the ITS budget process, preparing, submitting and monitoring progress of ITS operational and capital budgets. She manages purchasing, acquisition and management of licenses for software used by Siena College. She also provides support to and functions as the technology purchasing agent for all departments at the college, both administrative and academic. This purchasing includes but is not limited to computers, printers, data storage technology, and software. Lisa also supervises the functional operations of the ITS Department including purchasing and support management for office equipment, supplies, and interactions with Siena's Facilities Department. In addition, Lisa audits invoices and performs cost analysis for services used by ITS and the College, including audit and analysis of telecommunications billing, and advises the CIO on potential improvements and cost savings. She remains apprised of the college's goals by being involved in the planning of and keeping an interest in the college's Strategic Plan.
Lisa has been with the ITS Department at Siena College since April 1998, and she earned a Bachelor's degree from Empire State College in Business, Management & Economics with a concentration in Business Administration in June 2016. Conferences she has attended are Women, Technology and Leadership; Total Vendor Management; IT Procurement Summit; and Technology Procurement. Lisa is also a certified Help Desk Manager.
Speaker: Olga Bookas
Olga Bookas joined Wesleyan University in January 2005 as a Procurement Specialist. Her emphasis on savings, quality and leadership has earned Olga a promotion to Purchasing Manager in 2006 and to Director of Purchasing in 2011. Olga prepares RFPs, negotiates and oversees all major contracts for the university. She is working with Finance, Facilities, Libraries, Transportation, Human Resources, ITS and the Sciences. She negotiated Wesleyan’s first P-card program and assisted on implementation and introduced to Wesleyan University rebates programs.
Olga chairs the Procurement Sustainability Subcommittee and is a member of the SAGES (Sustainability Advisory Group for Environmental Stewardship).
She has organized five very successful “Go Green Vendor shows” with more than 40 vendors in attendance per show. In addition, Olga has organized fifth “Taste of Middletown” evens with 20 local restaurants and hotels. Employees have voted the most popular event on campus. Olga has been awarded the Wesleyan Cardinal Achievement Award for her services.
Olga holds a B.S. in Business Management from the University of Saint Joseph.
She Co-Chairs the Connecticut Colleges Purchasing Group for private institutions and serves on the Board of Directors for NAEP-NE (National Association of Educational Procurement). She is a member of NAEP, E&I and MHEC associations.
In the past, she has served as Secretary and Vice President in the Parish Council. Olga is the Director of the Greek School teaching the Greek language for more than 27 years.
