Event Overview
In higher education, we envision the student experience to be memorable, impactful, and relevant. While we may be adept at measuring learning outcomes, the results of a deeper learning experience in the classroom and online can be opaque until we design curriculum  in a manner that considers the holistic student experience. In this workshop, we will introduce you to learning experience design, a union of human-centered design and instructional design. We introduce this as an effective ecosystem approach to develop and implement relevant and impactful courses and programs. The goal of the approach is not only to benefit the students, but also faculty and staff as we all navigate between the physical and online environments, and create an integrated higher education learning experience. Participants can expect to become learning experience advocates and leave with tangible solutions from this interactive session that they can use in their home institutions.

Session Outcomes:
- Explain how a learner-centered design approach will benefit both instructors and students.
- Apply UX principles in various LMS to create effective learner design experiences.
- Create relevant assessments using learner-centered design that can enhance student engagement and knowledge retention.
- Develop a syllabus based on learner experience principles that can benefit both faculty and students.
