Event Overview

Learn your institutions issues and vulnerabilities while developing and offering a security training program to your employees, students and contractors. Using Risk Assessment standards, and a simple survey, you can glean valuable information about where your institution and its employees stand in the areas of understanding the risks your departments face every day and how they mitigate those risks. At the same time, providing a "dictionary" of the terms and language used by security professionals, and utilizing some interesting, interactive training techniques, you can adhere to the requirement of yearly security training and get your employees and others up to speed on what they need to know to keep your information secure. This session will provide the framework for a comprehensive, self-guided risk assessment and how to turn that risk assessment into a survey that provides valuable information to the campus's security personnel. At the same time, helping to guide users through the survey and exposing them to the terms and vocabulary, as well as the regulatory standards, a training opportunity presents itself.
