Leading From Where You Are- a Leadership Ecosystem Webinar

Jamie DePastino

Jamie DePastino is the Data Governance Manager in Computing Services at Carnegie Mellon University. She works with leaders to establish and operate an evolving collaboration of data stewards, data consumers, and analysts to enable data sharing and analytics for the institution with the ultimate goal of supporting business leaders in using data to make decisions and analyze performance. She is responsible for leading, planning, and facilitating the Data Governance and Data Service programs for the university. She develops data service programs and roadmaps along with establishing standards, frameworks, policies, and processes for the creation and maintenance of standard definitions, metadata, and data management and sharing practices to ensure data quality, stewardship, regulatory compliance, and issue resolution.

Jamie is an experienced Data Specialist with a demonstrated history of working in the higher education industry. She is skilled in Data Analysis, Data Visualization, and Data Governance and is a strong information technology professional with a Doctor of Education (EdD) focused in Administration and Leadership Studies (Higher Education) from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania.

Ray Frohlich 

Ray Frohlich is the Director of Client Services and IT Operations at Yale University Library, responsible for delivering IT services that enable successful research, scholarship, teaching, and learning outcomes for Yale University's global research community. He has extensive experience in technology and strategic planning, IT service management, and software development, including previous positions at Yale's Beinecke Rare Book and Manuscript Library, the Historical Society of Pennsylvania, and New York University. Ray holds an M.P.S. from the Interactive Telecommunications Program at New York University and a B.S. in Communication Theory, Technology, and Management from New York University.

Alex O'Neil

Alex O’Neil is a newcomer to the higher education ITS space.  While studying music education and vocal performance at Central Connecticut State University, he started working for Apple.  This allowed him to deepen his love for troubleshooting and problem-solving and lead him to pursue his current role at Wesleyan as the ITS Service Desk Manager.  While he continues to perform as a professional musician, Alex is enjoying growing as a manager, focused on leadership, empathy, and a deep love for troubleshooting. 

 

Steelsen Smith

Steelsen Smith is a Senior Technical Lead in the Yale Library IT department. He is primarily responsible for the maintenance and development of Yale Library’s Integrated Library System and related software. He also co-chairs several committees related to the maintenance of key library systems and has led several long-term upgrade and enhancement projects. Steelsen is currently participating in a multi-year project to modernize library collection software infrastructure and is also collaborating with peers across the country on the development of a new inventory management system, spearheaded by the Library of Congress.
