Curtis Ferree

Curtis Ferree serves as Associate Dean for Public Services and Coordinator of the Academic Commons Partnership at Fairfield University's DiMenna-Nyselius Library, and has over 30 years of experience in higher education, including 19 years of varied and increasing responsibility in academic libraries. He has held leadership roles in the areas of research services, information literacy, assessment, and collections. He is currently a member of a University-wide AI task force exploring the implications of AI on teaching, learning, and research, and is chairing a faculty learning community exploring the potential for AI in academic research. Curtis is committed to fostering innovative library environments that serve as the intellectual hub of a thriving liberal arts campus, while adapting to the evolving landscape of information access and academic research.

 

Michael Hemment 

Michael Hemment is a senior IT leader with over 15 years of experience in higher education, including roles at Tufts University and Harvard University. He specializes in advancing research and academic innovation through technology, leading cross-functional initiatives that align institutional priorities with emerging technologies. His work focuses on supporting faculty and student research communities and building strong partnerships across libraries, IT, and academic units. Michael has extensive experience delivering scalable, user-centered services, including AI tools, guidance, and programming, and is committed to fostering the responsible and effective adoption of AI within the academic environment.
