Making the New Technology Spaces Work
Speaker: David Blezard
David Blezard is a Senior IT Manager within Academic Technology at the University of New Hampshire. The Academic Computing Systems group that he manages supports the majority of the computer classrooms, computer labs, and related facilities at UNH. In addition, David supports other academic and technology initiatives at the University ranging from rich media creation and delivery to web server infrastructure. Over the last few years, David has been involved with the design and implementation of many new computer spaces for student use at UNH.
Speaker: Adam Hauerwas
Adam Hauerwas has worked at Providence College for over ten years, supporting the public access labs and learning management system. He still remembers how to work in MS-DOS, runs Windows on a Mac, and thinks Chromebases look interesting.
Speaker: Jay Rozgonyi
Jay Rozgonyi is the Director of Academic Computing at Fairfield University as well as an instructor in the Graduate School of Education and Allied Professions there. He has more than 20 years of experience working in education, media, and technology, and holds an undergraduate degree in Media Studies as well as master's degrees in Library & Information Science and History. Jay's work in information technology has focused on bringing technology into the classroom as a tool to support learning, and has included extensive training, documentation creation, and faculty collaboration.
Speaker: Debbie Whalley
Debbie Whalley is the Manager of Academic Computing Support at Fairfield University. She started working at Fairfield in 2002 and has held a variety of jobs over the years, including Faculty Support Coordinator and Support Services Manager, before assuming her current duties in 2013. Today, she coordinates computer lab and classroom support, including hardware and software needs; instructs faculty in the use of online tools for instruction, such as Blackboard Collaborate, mobile apps, and VDI; and works with the facilities department, media services, and faculty to simplify the classroom technology experience and make it more accessible - and less intimidating - to instructors. Debbie is dedicated to leveraging the technology that students bring on campus, both to engage them in course work and to reduce classroom and lab hardware expenditures by the university.
