Event Overview

Google the cow, has an incredible supply of milk (tools, data, research etc.). Most of the Higher Ed users, whether they are from a Google Apps institution or not, tend to just skim the surface by using a small number of the available supply. We have lined up an impressive array of experts who will help you dive deep into the sea of milk and expose you to ideas to help your faculty, staff and students enhance teaching, learning and research.

The SIG will introduce the attendees to some of the advanced use of commonly used tools - https://blogs.wellesley.edu/ravisblog/2013/03/08/milking-google-for-what-is-it-worth/. Then, Arun Nagarajan, a Senior Developer Advocate at Google, who will show us how to use Google Apps Scripts to develop "compelling applications and workflow" for use in our institutions. Andrew Stillman from New Visions for Public Schools will then do a show and tell of several workflow and document management applications that he has developed for use by his high school support organization. Marion Kennedy from Google will join us remotely from North Carolina to show us some use cases for Google+ in Higher Ed and Geoff Greene (The guy who impressed everyone at the NERCOMP Annual conference with his musical prowess) from Brown University will show us how they are extending some of the Google Apps tools for enhancing campus communication.
