Event Overview

In the higher education environment, there are a number of cultural and political realities that create challenges for project management. The unconference format empowers participants to set an agenda that addresses their pressing questions and concerns on the day of the session, while providing opportunities to share their own knowledge with others. Participants will be able to suggest and facilitate topical discussions on project management in higher education; session topics will be selected through a group voting process on the day of the event. Unconference attendees will take away real ideas and solutions that they can use to address project management challenges at their institution, and will make enduring connections with other higher ed project managers in our region.

Here are some examples of possible session topics, keeping in mind that the actual suggestions and agenda will be determined by the participants:
- Getting leadership buy-in for projects
- How to manage project schedules
- How to manage project scope creep
- Project management tools in use at other schools
- Managing resistance to change
- Project success factors

This session will be appropriate for anyone who manages projects in higher ed, both those who are new to project management and those who are experienced project managers.

Maximum enrollment: 48
