Event Overview
I bet if you drew a Venn Diagram of librarians and faculty development staff (Instructional Designers, Center for Teaching and Learning staff, Service Learning staff, etc) at your university, it is likely to result in significant overlap! These two roles make natural and excellent allies in working together, cross-promoting their own projects, and soliciting input and advice. While often housed in different parts of the institution, these are complementary areas that by working together and drawing upon one another’s expertise can provide great value and benefit for your institution.

This day-long workshop will explore the value of building an Allyship/partnership between librarians and faculty development staff. Just how they fit together, how collaborations currently exist at institutions in New England, and how to develop and/or further enhance these relationships at respective institutes. 

Session Outcomes:
- Articulate how the Library and Faculty Development teams have common interests and alignment.
- Explain several examples of successful library-faculty development collaborations.
- Plan how to more effectively connect the Library and Faculty Development at their campus.
