Event Overview
In the higher education environment, there are a number of cultural and political realities that create challenges for projects. If you’re new to project management at your school, or you’re a project manager who is new to higher ed, please join us to explore common project challenges in higher education, and learn how to use a Project Charter to mitigate their impact on your projects. We’ll use a case study and have group discussions to understand the causes of common project challenges, and we’ll practice creating a Project Charter to address those challenges. We will also send out brief pre-workshop assignments to set the stage for our day together.
Session Outcomes:
• To understand the challenges often encountered in projects at higher education institutions
• To learn how to use a Project Charter to more effectively manage project challenges
Intended Audience:
• New project managers in higher ed
• Project managers who are new to higher ed
