Speaker: James Cuff
James is the Chief Technology Officer for Cycle Computing, Leader in Utility High Performance Computing. He is responsible for setting the strategy and technical direction for Cycle technology platforms to enable more breakthrough science at scale. James was previously the Director of Research Computing & Chief Technology Architect for the Faculty of Arts and Sciences at Harvard University. Before assuming this role in 2007, James directed Research Computing for the Life Sciences Division at Harvard. Prior to working at Harvard, James managed the Applied Production Systems Group at the Broad Institute of Harvard and MIT. Before moving to the US in 2003, James created the high performance computing infrastructure for the Ensembl project at the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute. James holds a D. Phil. in Molecular Biophysics from Oxford University and a B.Sc. (Hons) in Chemistry with Industrial Experience from Manchester University.

Chris is an infrastructure geek with the BioTeam specializing in the applied use of high performance IT to enable and enhance scientific research in life science informatics environments.
Speaker: Patrick Florance
Patrick Florance is the Manager of Geospatial Technology Services at Tufts University and Adjunct Lecturer at Fletcher School of Law & Diplomacy. He manages geospatial technology services and teaches GIS. Patrick is the project manager of Open Geoportal. Previously Patrick was the digital cartography specialist at Harvard University. He has worked in a variety of private, academic, and public environments including New York City Planning.
Speaker: Lionel Zupan
Lionel Zupan is Director of Research and Geospatial Technology Services at Tufts University. Before coming to Tufts University, Lionel Zupan was Assistant-Professor of Otology and Laryngology at Harvard Medical School, and Principal Investigator at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary (Boston MA). Lionel Zupan was awarded a PhD in Image and Signal Processing / Neuroscience from the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Télécommunications (Paris, France) and an Engineering Diploma in Computer Science Specialization Artificial Intelligence and Cognitive Science.
