Hear from representatives of various schools as they discuss SaaS’s potential to provide effective solutions. We will provide specific examples of our SaaS experiences. Overall these institutions have implemented or are implementing the following: Slate Admission, Salesforce, Workday, Maxient Student Conduct Software, Google email, PeopleAdmin hiring, OrgSync Student Activity, Qualtrics Survey Tool, Name-Coach and Explorance Blue Teaching Evaluations.

Smith College is implementing Salesforce as our system of engagement for our alumnae community, front-line development fundraisers, event invitations and RSVPs, mass emails, and project portfolio management. We are building expertise with the Salesforce platform that offers a comprehensive view of our constituents and facilitates collaboration across campus and around the world.

The purpose of this session is to help those working in higher education to better understand the capabilities and risk factors to consider when researching or planning for the migration of an institution’s applications to a cloud-based vendor platform.

Speaker: Beth Hayes, Deputy CIO, Vassar College
As Vassar evaluates Workday to replace a 20 year old Banner legacy ERP, they have talked to many schools and compiled a list of lessons learned from others who have or are implementing Workday. Vassar plans to implement Workday HCM, Finance, and Student and will share the journey of planning and organizational change management as well as insight to the implementation planning process.

1:30pm – 2:00pm Using SaaS for More Inclusive Schools: How to Connect through Name Pronunciation
Speaker: Praveen Shanbhag, Founder and CIO, NameCoach
An overview of the NameCoach platform, which empowers faculty, staff, and students to create more culturally inclusive environments through correct name pronunciation. Mechanics of the out-of-the box Name Page service, and the API and 3rd-Party LMS/SIS/CRM extensions for NameCoach Connect. Brief presentation of current implementations (e.g., Wesleyan and Stanford) for graduation ceremonies, orientation, classrooms, alumni outreach, and more. Discussion of how customizations for early partners drove dramatic improvement in SaaS features and adoption across hundreds of institutions.
