Event Overview
Security! Everyone talks about it. Everyone has heard the data breach stories. Everyone is concerned. But what does being “secure” really mean? Is it about firewalls and anti-virus software? Is it about changing passwords every 90 days? Should we encrypt everything? Whether you are new to IT, have new concerns about security, or just want to know more, understanding the key concepts and terminology will help us all work to make sure our campuses really are secure. Whatever the reason, this session, built from 10+ years of teaching IT in higher ed will teach you what you need to know, compressed into 60 minutes!
Session Outcomes:
- Become familiar with the basic terminology used in the information security field
- Gain new perspectives on how you can work to make your campus IT more secure
