Event Overview
It’s no longer enough for IT to support the business needs of the institution; increasingly, our organizations are expected to serve as strategic partners to drive institutional growth. As the pace of technology accelerates, staff are expected to innovate at an equal measure. In order to be successful, IT organizations need to identify the skills for the workforce of the future, and find creative ways to encourage growth and expertise in these new and emerging areas. While this can pose significant challenges to any IT organization, some institutions have developed impressive programs that inspire and motivate staff to build new skills and reinvent their professional goals.
In this interactive, day-long workshop, discover how Cornell and Harvard Universities have developed programs to meet their future workforce needs without breaking the bank. Participants will learn how to conduct a skills assessment, determine workforce needs, and address the common obstacles that often block the transformation of IT organizations.
Session Outcomes:
- Receive tools and techniques for conducting a needs assessment at your institution
- Create an action plan to implement learning and development programs at your institution
- Learn about training programs that support the development of business culture skills to help IT professionals with this transition
Intended Audience:
Open to everyone. It's an innovative approach with lively speakers. Anyone with staff will benefit from this workshop.
