Event Overview

It’s 2014 – Do you know what your faculty want from you? Is it classic or specialized resources, new services, innovative systems and spaces? All of the above, and more? Libraries and information technology continue to evolve, and with them are evolving faculty expectations. Spend the day exploring how librarians identify needs and deliver the services that faculty need to enhance their research and teaching. Faculty from a variety of academic disciplines will provide insight into effective approaches for faculty-library collaboration. Librarians will present case studies, which demonstrate how faculty needs are assessed and met. The day will conclude with a discussion of next steps for gaining a better understanding of what faculty expect from you and your library.

Workshop attendees will be able to:

•    Explore effective methods to solicit ideas and feedback from faculty.
•    Learn what librarians in academic libraries in the region are doing to provide outstanding service to faculty.
•    Hear from selected faculty, across disciplines, regarding their expectations of libraries and librarians in 2014.
•    Develop a plan for next steps in state-of-the-art library services to faculty.
