9:45am – 10:30am UConn - Husky Hunt: Social Media Driven Gaming to Engage Students in IS Awareness

HuskyHunt is a game developed by the University of Connecticut designed to teach the student body practical information security lessons while utilizing social media to improve message reach and local business partnerships to increase overall participation. The talk will focus on the application, the flow of the game, the partnerships we have developed across the institution and the metrics we are using to determine engagement and reach. We are now considering a multi-university 'Hunt' contest for the upcoming fall semester and are hoping to identify schools that will utilize the software and participate.

Hamilton College responded to a recent information security audit by initiating a brand new information security program. Part of that program includes working to change user behavior through information security education. But how do you launch a comprehensive, all employee and student IS Awareness effort in a few short months when there is no IS Officer, let alone an IS Office? Nikki and Maureen will explain Hamilton's process so far, including the ups and downs.
