Purchased in 2008 along with the Datatel (now Ellucian) Colleague ERP, the My.Assumption portal has become the repository of all Assumption information for students, faculty and staff. It is also the means of interaction, communication and, often, collaboration among campus groups. As such, it is used for both static, as-needed information as well as for dynamic alerts and communication. Dawn Thistle, CIO, and Beth Goven, Portal Developer, will describe the portal planning process, ongoing governance, features and benefits—and drawbacks-- of the current version of Assumption’s portal.

2:10pm - 2:40pm A Softer Side to Integration: Boston College's Service Catalog
Speakers:
Peter Salvitti. Chief Technologist, Boston College
Jeri Schefts, Manager, IT Service Management Boston College
Boston College created their BC Service Catalog (bcservices.bc.edu) to provide a 'one-stop shopping' for all the services available to the BC community. The goal was to take down barriers, eliminate the need to know which website, portal, or application to go to, and to reduce time to action. The BC Service Catalog allows users to simply find the service they're looking for, view a brief description (optional), and have a direct link to that service. The marketing of the BC Service Catalog has been slow and steady, and the result has been well received. Many service providers now ask how to get their services added to the Catalog!
