Beth Goven

Beth Goven joined Assumption as an Applications Analyst in 2008 after having worked in a variety of corporate technology positions. In her current role she is responsible for the Ellucian Portal as well as supporting the Colleague Finance and Advancement modules. She loves working with the portal to find new ways to engage Assumption constituents. Beth holds a B.S. degree from Assumption College. She has a son and a daughter and is a nationally-ranked volleyball player, heading for the National Senior Games in June. 


Dora Kuan

 A chemist, rower, designer, technologist, communicator and collaborator, Dora revels in engaging all sorts of minds in better understanding the experiences and expectations of creators and consumers of information and technology. With a unique blend of experiences gained through graduate school, Pfizer, a Providence graphic design firm, and Johnson & Wales University, Dora is always intrigued by the communications -- and lack thereof -- between people, teams and organizations. Her passion is to bring people together, establish relationships, and build true understanding -- thus creating a community of engagement and ongoing conversation. Peter Salvitti

Peter Salvitti is the Chief Technologist, Office of the CIO, at Boston College. He has been at Boston College for the past 5 years. Peter has over 31 years of IT experience in a broad variety of industries including Higher Education. He reports to the VP/CIO of Information Technology Services, and works closely with BC ITS senior leadership to set the strategic direction for solution development and guide ITS on all R&D efforts at the University. Peter’s particular focus is on scalability and efficiency through architecture simplification; faculty, student and staff insights through analytics and mobility; enterprise and integration architecture; rationalizing the University technology and application portfolio; and cloud computing and virtualization strategy.


Jeri Schefts

Jeri Schefts is the Manager, IT Service Management at Boston College. She has over 25 years of IT experience, mostly in higher education. Her background includes working at various levels of responsibility and  management primarily in the areas of software implementations and support services, with a focus always of advocating for the users to deliver the best possible results. She has always enjoyed being the liaison between ITS and the customers.

Karen Sylvester

Karen is the manager of Production Services in Brown's Computing and Information Services department; and has been at Brown for 29 years.

Dawn Thistle

Dawn Thistle has served as Executive Director of Information Technology & Media Services at Assumption College since January 2008. For 10 years prior to that appointment she was Director of Library Services. Before coming to Assumption she worked at the College of the Holy Cross as Head of Reader Services and Music Librarian. She holds a Bachelor of Music degree from Oberlin College Conservatory of Music, the M.Mus. from New England Conservatory of Music and the M.S. and D.A. from Simmons College Graduate School of Library and Information Science. Dr. Thistle is active in NERCOMP, having served on the Board (2012-2016), Educause, the American Library Association and the Association of College and Research Libraries (ACRL). She has served as President of the New England Chapter of ACRL, and in 2009-2010 was elected Chair of the national ACRL College Libraries Section. She is an alumna of the ACRL/Harvard Leadership Institute and has served on six NEASC reaccreditation visiting teams. Dr. Thistle has presented for NERCOMP, ALA, ACRL, ACRL New England, New England Library Association, Massachusetts Conference of Chief Librarians of Public Higher Educational Institutions, NELINET and other organizations. She has published in CIO Insight, Industry Week and College & Undergraduate Libraries. Dr. Thistle lives with her husband and two dogs in Oakham, Massachusetts, where she enjoys gardening, kayaking, watching the hummingbirds, riding her Harley and playing the organ for her church.
