Kenzie Bruso
Kenzie attended Champlain College in Burlington, VT and graduated with a bachelor's degree in Graphic Design & Multimedia.  She worked in the Office of Admission at Champlain for about 8 years. During her time there, she managed the Admission Operations team and implemented a number of systems used in the Enrollment Division.  For the last 5 years she has been the Assistant Director of Admission & Financial Aid Information Systems at Amherst College. While at Amherst Kenzie has been a Slate Captain and is responsible for the day-to-day management of Slate.  She works in all areas of Slate but spends the majority of her time focused on Deliver, Forms, Decision Release and Portals.   


Will Cummins
Will studied Spanish and economics at Grinnell College and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in 2010.  After spending a year teaching English in a public, bilingual school in Madrid, Spain, he returned to Grinnell to work in its admission office.  During his four years there, he gained his first exposure to Slate. In the summer of 2015, he began working in the admission office at Amherst College, and he is a Slate Captain, serves as the liaison to the athletics department, and manages much of the application review process.   


Gina Kane
Gina earned a BS in Business Administration from SUNY Geneseo in 2011. She joined the financial aid team at the Colleges in 2012, transitioned to the Admissions Office in 2015 and then the Office of Marketing and Communications in 2018.  As the Director of Marketing, her primary responsibility is recruitment marketing strategy. Gina also works diligently on brand awareness and reputation building for Hobart and William Smith.


Carrie Kell
Carrie has worked in higher education for over 10 years as both a faculty member and in administration. At Rhode Island School of Design, Carrie is the Associate Director of Strategic Initiatives and Enrollment for Continuing Education, serving as the Slate Captain within her department. She has a BA in Secondary Education and MA in English from the University of Toledo as well as a M.Ed in Higher Education Administration from Northeastern University. 


Jessica Meers
Jess has worked in technology for over 16 years. She has a BA in Management Information Systems from Bowling Green State University, 2004 and a MBA in Organizational Leadership from Johnson and Wales University, 2009.  As a Lead Applications Specialist at the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD), she assists departments reach their technology goals by providing IT project management and implementation services. Jess has extensive Slate knowledge and was a captain on the RISD Slate implementation that began in 2016.  Prior to joining the RISD team, she spent 10 years as the IT Applications Manager in healthcare managing ancillary systems and their integrations. 


Craig Myers
Craig earned a BA in Music Industry from SUNY Oneonta in 2008 and a BS in Information Technology from the University of Phoenix in 2013. He joined the IT Field Support team at HWS in 2014 as a Technology Support Specialist. He was promoted to a Field Support Engineer in 2016 after earning certifications in Jamf, Six Sigma, R, Python and web development. In May of 2019 Craig accepted a position with the colleges Admissions team as the Associate Director of Communications.


Mark Phalen 
Mark graduated with his bachelor's in Computer Science and Applied Mathematics from SUNY Albany in 2000.  He worked as a Computer Programmer for AXA Equitable in Syracuse, NY while simultaneously earning a Master of Science in Information Management from Syracuse University in 2004. After six years at AXA Equitable, Mark switched from the private sector to Higher Education when he started working at St. Lawrence University in 2006.

While at St. Lawrence University, Mark worked in Information Technology (IT) as a computer programmer and later a Senior Programmer/Analyst. While in IT he worked on all campus related data integrations and campus wide reporting. In addition, he lead the implementation of Colleague (HR, Payroll, Accounts Payable, Financial Aid, and Student), Raiser’s Edge for Advancement, and the campus housing system.

In 2017, Mark became the Director of Admissions Information Systems and implemented Technolutions Slate at St. Lawrence University.  Mark also manages the Admissions Operations team at St. Lawrence while working to expand the reaches of Slate every day.


Mia Rogers
Mia Rogers is a Senior Assistant Dean of Admission and the Director of Diversity Recruitment at Hamilton College.  She graduated with a bachelor's degree in Comparative American Studies and Theater from Oberlin College and also received her MA in Higher Education from the University of Maryland, College Park.  Prior to Mia's time at Hamilton, she worked in the Department of Fraternity and Sorority Life at the University of Maryland, College Park.  At Hamilton, Mia serves as a Slate Captain as well as the liaison for QuestBridge, Posse, and the Higher Education Opportunity Program (HEOP).  


Aaron Watts
Aaron Watts is an Admissions Counselor at Tufts University. He received his BS in Chemical and Biological Engineering from Tufts in 2018. Shortly thereafter, he began working in the Office of Undergraduate Admissions with a focus on outreach for the School of Engineering. He currently works as part of the tech and data team to develop and maintain innovative and sustainable admissions processes.
