Event Overview:
Before faculty can make thoughtful choices about teaching with, around, or without AI, they need a common foundation for understanding and discussing it. This session explores a practical approach for helping faculty understand what generative AI is—and isn’t—while reflecting on their own perspectives, values, and concerns. Presenters will share a “Changemakers” model for equipping informed faculty champions who can extend the reach of teaching and learning and educational technology teams. Designed for faculty developers, instructional designers, educational technologists, academic leaders, and faculty supporting their peers, this session provides a framework for creating shared language, exploring ethical questions, and ensuring every instructor has an accessible pathway to AI learning.

Session Outcomes:
By the end of this session, participants will be able to:
 - Establish a shared foundation and vocabulary for productive conversations about generative AI in teaching and learning.
 - Use reflection and values-based approaches to help faculty explore their own perspectives on AI, including ethical considerations.
 - Adapt a faculty-champion or “Changemakers” model to expand AI learning and support across their institution.
