Hong T. Chau

Hong T. Chau is an instructional designer in Academic Technology at Brown University. She holds a Bachelors of Arts in Commerce, Organizations, and Entrepreneurship from Brown University and a Master’s of Science from Johns Hopkins University School of Education. Hong is a core member of the Instructional Technology Group, engaging the Brown community to make academic technology easily accessible to students and faculty. Some of her recent projects include designing and launching a massive open online course (MOOC), facilitating synchronous global classrooms, and redesigning curriculum to enable participatory active learning. Hong's professional interests include faculty development, maker spaces and fabrication labs, blended learning methodologies, and knowledge management strategies for organizations.


Erin DeSilva

Erin DeSilva is an Instructional Designer at Dartmouth College. She supports faculty in creating effective and engaging learning experiences through active learning strategies that include team-based learning, student response technology, and more. Erin holds an Ed.M. in Educational Media and Technology at Boston University and a B.S. from Simmons College. She has worked in science and technology education at Brown University, Worcester Polytechnic Institute, the Museum of Science in Boston and a PBS affiliate in Toledo, Ohio.


Karen Storin Linitz

Karen Storin Linitz is Associate Dean of Library and Learning Resource at Emmanuel College in Boston, where she previously held the position of Director of Academic Technology & Innovation. Prior to joining Emmanuel, Karen held positions in instructional technology and librarianship, taught legal research, and practiced labor and employment law. Karen has been involved for the past three years in the development and implementation of the ‘BLES’ (“Bettering Learner Engagement Study”) project of the six-institution Colleges of the Fenway consortium. This grant-funded project aims to analyze data from the learning management and other systems at COF institutions in order to identify instructional technology uses and practices that have significant impact on learning success. 


Scott Millspaugh

Scott Millspaugh is an instructional designer with the Educational Technologies group at Dartmouth College. He holds a Ph.D. in Italian and Medieval Studies from the University of California, Berkeley, and has published on thirteenth-century Italian lyric poetry and rhetorical culture. He is co-leader, along with Laurence Hooper and Graziella Parati, of DanteLab, which updates Robert Hollander’s Dartmouth Dante Project with a customizable interface that allows users to read across the text of the Divine Comedy, translations of the poem, and over 75 commentaries from the fourteenth century through today. In addition to thirteenth- and fourteenth-century Italian literature and literary culture, Scott’s professional and research interests include Digital Humanities theory and practice, evidence-based teaching, and the application of learning data to instructional design.


Jing Qi

Dr. Jing Qi presently serves as Learning Analytic and LMS Specialist at Dartmouth College. Prior to joining Dartmouth, Dr. Qi had served as the Director of Information Management and IR at Clarion University of Pennsylvania, and the Director of IR and Instructional Technology at the University of Maine at Presque Isle. She holds a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, and received her doctorate degree in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from the University of Vermont. Using her solid background in computer science, extensive experience in educational data mining, and strong interest in data visualization, she integrates the core elements of learning analytics and instructional technology in the exploration of Analytics in Instructional Design. Esin Sile
As a seasoned Economist and Consultant, Dr. Sile has worked extensively with institutions and organizations in the education sector, partnering with clients in K-12 and higher education institutions to provide strategy based on data-driven research. Dr. Sile also has been advising clients globally on how to best adopt innovative and entrepreneurial strategies in their organizations. Dr. Sile is a frequent speaker at international conferences on innovation and entrepreneurship. Throughout her career, she has advised clients on issues related to complex litigation, regulatory proceedings, and strategy development in a wide array of industries.

Currently, Dr. Sile is a partner and CEO at MindBridge Partners; an advisory firm focused on learning and innovation. Dr. Sile is Adjunct Faculty at Boston College.  Esin previously was Vice President at Maguire Associates, among the leading higher education consulting firms in the U.S. Prior to Maguire, Esin led numerous consulting engagements during her decade long tenure at Analysis Group, a leading economic consulting firm in the U.S. Dr. Sile holds BA in International Relations from Bilkent University, MA in International Law and International Economics from Johns Hopkins Schools of Advanced International Relations (SAIS), MA in Economics from Brown University, and Ph.D. in Economics from Georgetown University.

She is the Co-chair of TurkishWIN Boston Chapter. She is also on the Board of Alumni Club of Brown University and also acts as the Board Treasurer.
