BYO-WHAT : The Challenges and Solutions in Supporting Mobile Devices on Campus

Speaker: Marla Botelho

Marla Botelho is the Chief Information Officer at Regis College. She has a Master of Science in Network Security from Capitol College and has been with Regis for 10 years. Marla has worked in Information Technology within higher education for 20+ years and began her technology career supporting and managing administrative information systems. She organized the Small Institution Collaboration SIGs.


Speaker: Mark Frydenberg

Mark Frydenberg is a Senior Lecturer of Computer Information Systems at Bentley University in Waltham, MA and the Director of its Learning and Technology Sandbox. He is also a contributing author of Discovering Computers 2014 and author of the recently enhanced edition of Web 2.0 Concepts and Applications, both published by Cengage Learning as part of the Shelly/Cashman Series. A classroom educator and innovator, Mark’s research focuses on tools for collaborative learning. He has spoken at academic and professional conferences, and faculty development events throughout the United States and Europe.


Speaker: Mark Staples

Mark Staples, Vice President & Chief Information Officer. Mark has served as a senior information technology executive with 25 years of IT leadership experience at five research institutions. Prior to his appointment at Wentworth, he served as the director of academic technology services at Northeastern University and oversaw the university’s instructional and research computing, including classrooms and research labs. Before Northeastern, Mark held leadership positions at Georgia Health Sciences University, the Medical University of Ohio, the University of Toledo and Indiana University; providing leadership for the enterprise that included organizational and service development, implementation of ERP and other enterprise systems, management and partnerships. Mark is also an educator who has taught at both the undergraduate and graduate levels and developed expertise in online learning, asynchronous and synchronous technologies, instructional design, instructional systems technology, audio/visual technologies, and research technologies. He received his B.S. in human relations from the University of Toledo and an M.B.A. in organizational leadership from the University of Findlay. He is currently pursuing his doctoral degree at Northeastern.
 

Speaker: Michael Stella
Michael Stella is the Assistant Director of Enterprise and Network Services. He has been with Regis College for over 12 years and has grown significantly during his time there. Over the years Mike has implemented and managed two wireless projects, campus network infrastructure upgrades, server virtualization, network security, and campus wide security video and card access systems.
 

Speaker: Matthew Sullivan

Matthew Sullivan spearheads the strategic testing, development, and implementation of cross¬‐platform support and security for mobile device platforms such as iOS, Android, BlackBerry, and Windows Phone at MIT. He's trusted to evaluate current and future mobile platform trends and provide fact¬‐based purchasing and support recommendations. Matthew works closely with all major cellular carriers to improve the customer service experience provided to MIT users from the carriers as well as securing aggressive plan and contract pricing. When he's not tackling the mobile device overload, he's an Father, and a avid Photographer.
