Speaker: Mary Bold, Ph.D., EVP at Accreditrust

For more than 15 years, Mary Bold has worked in online education launching wholly online degrees at the master's and doctoral levels. The former academic dean of a graduate institution, Mary has overseen more than 3000 grad students in a single major and supervised more than a hundred faculty widely dispersed around the country. Mary continues to work with a variety of higher ed institutions in assessment, institutional effectiveness, and development of online programs.


Speaker: Carole Currie, Instructional Technologist, Salve Regina University

Carole Currie is currently an Instructional Technologist in the Center for Teaching and Learning at Salve Regina University where she designs and delivers effective instructional technology training programs for faculty. As an adjunct faculty in the Department of Business and Economics, she designs and teaches undergraduate, graduate, and continuing education courses in business management. She is a Quality Matters Peer Reviewer and Publisher Reviewer. Prior to working in higher education, Carole ran her own training and organizational development consulting business in New York City. She has presented over 2,000 training sessions to more than 25,000 business professionals and has extensive experience in change management. Carole has an MS in Management with an Organizational Development Concentration and recently completed a Certificate of Graduate Studies in Holistic Leadership. She is an active member of Toastmasters International and has earned a Competent Communicator Certificate from this organization. She has an undergraduate degree in operatic performance from San Francisco State University.


Speaker: Matt Goodwin, Product Manager at Canvas by Instructure

Matt Goodwin is a Product Manager at Canvas by Instructure. He’s been with the company since October 2011, working first in the professional services group before moving on to the product team last fall. Matt studied at the University of Utah, and Brigham Young University. He’s been in the the tech industry for nearly 15 years, with experience both as a programmer and technical project manager. When he’s not working to build more awesome into Canvas, Matt enjoys rugby as both a player and a youth coach. He’s also a scouting volunteer, and likes to spend plenty of time with his wife and four kids. 


Speaker: Eric Korb, President/CEO, Accreditrust, LLC. (former) Chief Technology Officer, American College of Education

As a CTO and CIO for higher education, Eric Korb has guided the adoption of Instructure Canvas and pioneered new applications of the platform, specifically the creation of a whole-campus Student Commons as well as the integration of badges to recognize learners' achievement. Eric has a long history in entrepreneurial business, taking technology products to market for over 30 years.


Speaker: Peter Testori, MS, Assistant Director of Faculty Development Initiatives, Bay Path College

Peter Testori currently serves as the Assistant Director of Faculty Development Initiatives for the Center for Teaching and Learning at Bay Path College. Mr. Testori provides training and development for faculty using 21st century teaching and learning tools. Mr. Testori works individually with faculty to provide consultative services aimed at incorporating new educational tools and strategies within their classrooms. Additionally, Mr. Testori serves as the primary administrator for the College’s learning management system (Canvas) and holds a leadership role for the campus iPad initiative. Mr. Testori is a graduate of Central Connecticut State University where he earned a master of science in counseling with a specialization in student development/higher education.


Speaker: Annette Torrey, Director of the Center for Teaching and Learning, Salve Regina University

Annette Torrey is the Director of the Center for Teaching and Learning at Salve Regina University, which supports discussions about, innovation in, and scholarship on teaching and learning. She also oversees online course design, instructional technology, and the Quality Matters program at Salve Regina. Annette has an M.A. in Instructional Media Design and over 10 years of experience in designing and developing online courses, experimenting with and integrating new technologies into teaching, providing professional development resources and opportunities to faculty, raising awareness of accessibility issues in online courses, and mentoring faculty new to online teaching. Annette also has extensive experience with learning management systems, as administrator, trainer, and designer; and has been involved in four learning management system migrations, two as project co-manager.


Speaker: Amber Vaill, Ph.D., Assistant Dean of Online Learning, Bay Path College

Amber L. Vaill is the Assistant Dean of Online Learning at Bay Path College. Amber helped establish the College’s Center for Online Learning in 2007, developed its professional development program to prepare new online instructors, and created the curriculum for the College’s required orientation course for new online students. Amber has a decade of experience in online education, serving in the role of an instructor, administrator and student. Amber led the College’s effort to research new LMS options and was instrumental in planning and implementing the transition to Canvas. Amber holds a Ph.D. in Education with an eLearning specialization from Northcentral University, and master’s degrees from Westfield State College (History Education) and Framingham State College (Curriculum and Instructional Technology).


Speaker: Catherine Zabriskie, Director of Academic Technology, Brown University

As the Director of Academic Technology at Brown University, Catherine Zabriskie works in partnership with the University community to enhance teaching and learning and address strategic needs in support of faculty, staff and students through the effective use of technology. Catherine received her B.S in Art History from the University for Colorado, and her M.S. in Educational Technology Leadership from the George Washington University. Prior to coming to Brown University, Catherine supported faculty innovations in teaching and technology for the College of Arts and Humanities at the University of Maryland for 12 years. 


Speaker: Pat Zudeck, Associate Director Instructional Technology, Brown University

Pat Zudeck is the Associate Director of Instructional Technology at Brown University, where she has worked since 2005. As a member of Computing and Information Systems, Academic Technology, Pat leads the Instructional Technology Group; winner of Brown’s Excellence in Service Award and oversees Brown’s Educational Technology Center. Ms. Zudeck collaborates with faculty, staff and students campus-wide to develop programs and projects that promote the use of technology to facilitate teaching and learning. She has presented at several NERCOMP events including most recently the PDOs “New Kids on the Block: Migrating to Canvas” where she shared Brown’s experience moving to Canvas and the online session “Sit with Me and NERCOMP” in conjunction with sitwithme.org to recognize the important role women play in creating the future of technology. She has been instrumental in Brown’s Canvas Course Tools project not only in transitioning the campus to a new LMS but in leveraging Canvas’ open APIs and LTI features to fully integrate Canvas with Brown’s other instructional tools. Pat holds a B.F. A., an M.A. in Art History and an M.S in Information Systems. She also has a certificate from the Educause Institute Leadership program.
