Event Overview
As teaching and learning professionals, we are regularly tasked to develop complex projects and services that could benefit from a savvy colleague’s feedback. Unfortunately, we don’t often have consistent ways to get that feedback locally.
Real-time online conversations with friendly colleagues from our professional community could be just the break a project needed. How do we create a professional community that can support these kind of constructive critique sessions? The facilitator of this session has had success in running and participating in sessions like this at a small scale, but is interested in working with others to craft ways to make these kinds of sessions:
- Easy to put together in a just-in-time format without an onerous organizational structure.
- Safe, respectful, and inclusive.
- Productive and ultimately useful.
This session will be focused on discussion, and will benefit from participants bringing their own expertise and experiences.
Session Outcomes:
Participants will select and refine procedures and norms for productive and safe critique sessions.
Participants will discuss and assess effective tools and methods to organize and implement ad-hoc virtual meetings.
