This discussion will focus on cloud computing procurement process by outline a set a best practices for colleges and universities that move from a linear to dynamic process.

Even in a small college departmental managers don't always think about the fact that contracting for a "cloud" service should involve the IT folk. This session will explore how Siena College has responded to this challenge and how a checklist was developed for protective elements desired in each contract. Attendees will be encouraged to share challenges that they face so that best practices can be developed.

The challenge of addressing the outsourcing of both technology and other information services at a large research university seems to be a Sisyphean task.  Matthew Dalton will lead an interactive talk on some thoughts and strategies as each university starts to make headway.
