Speakers:
Doug Anderson, Director, Service Planning and Management, Tufts University
Brian Miller, Project Services Manager / IT Integration Project Manager, Tufts University

The project was completed on time and on budget, meeting all technology and business requirements, but after the go-live party, did you realize the service the project delivered wasn’t quite ready for operation? This session will provide a practical overview of service planning activities that can be used in a modular fashion to ensure that approval, funding, and planning of project requests includes sufficient time, budget, and expertise to execute the service phase after project completion.

1:00pm – 2:15pm Process Mapping Refresher
Speaker: Debra Dexter, Content, Training & Communications Coordinator, Worcester Polytechnic Institute

Documented process maps add clarity not only about the process but about individual roles within the process. Documenting who does what identifies opportunities to remove inefficiencies, facilitate workflow, or identify touch-points to customers, business units or technologies that support the process. In this presentation, we offer participants a refresher of process mapping concepts and demonstrate examples of how to use process maps to document each step in fulfilling service requests or handling incidents.
