Thought Partner Program: Beyond the Tools - Rethinking the Digital Workplace in Higher Education
Session 1: Framing the Digital Workplace Challenge (90 min)
What problem are we actually trying to solve?
This opening session helps participants build a shared understanding of the digital workplace as more than tools and platforms. It introduces the program’s core framing, surfaces common institutional friction points, and gives participants a chance to begin articulating the challenge they most need to make sense of in their own setting.
Session 2: Understanding the Current State (90 min)
Seeing the environment clearly before trying to solve it.
This session helps participants move from initial problem-framing to a clearer understanding of how the digital workplace is experienced in their institution. It focuses on the gap between intended processes and lived practice, and it introduces practical ways to build a better picture of the current state through listening, observation, and lightweight discovery methods.
Session 3: Governance, Ownership, and Human Behavior (90 min)
Who decides, and why don’t people follow?
This session helps participants explore one of the most difficult dimensions of digital workplace work: the intersection of governance, decision-making, ownership, and human behavior. It focuses on how institutions create clarity around tools, content, expectations, and standards, as well as why even well-intentioned governance often fails when it does not reflect how people actually work.
Session 4: Leadership, Adoption, and Organizational Change (90 min)
Why should leaders care, and how do new ways of working take hold?
This final session helps participants connect digital workplace work to leadership priorities, behavior change, and practical institutional action. It focuses on how to frame the value of the work in ways that resonate, how new practices move from optional to expected, and how participants can identify realistic next steps in their own setting.
