Creating an IT Innovation Lab to Promote Student Career-Readiness in STEM Fields

9:00am – 9:10am Welcome and Introductions by the Presenters
Overview of the workshop, the presenters, the innovation lab concept, and its implementation at NYU.
9:10am - 9:20am Table Introductions
In table groups, each participant introduces him/herself, his/her institution, and the challenges the institution faces.
9:20am – 10:00am Work Groups Complete 4 Assigned Tasks
Each group breaks out and develops an idea/strategy for one component of the innovation lab concept. Teams pick a leader to present their idea/strategy.
10:00am - 10:15am Break
10:15am – 11:00am Group Presentations (10 minutes each)
Team leader presents his/her table’s idea/strategy.
11:00am – 11:20am Discussion and Questions
Presenters bring all the strategies and ideas together and take questions/feedback.
11:20am - 12:00pm Work Groups Complete 4 Assigned Tasks
Each group breaks out and develops an idea/strategy for a new component of the innovation lab concept. Teams pick a new leader to present their idea/strategy.
12:00pm – 1:00pm Lunch
1:00pm – 2:00pm Group Presentations (10 minutes each)
Team leader presents his/her table’s idea/strategy.
2:00pm - 2:15pm Break
2:15pm - 3:00pm Summary of Main Ideas and Open Forum Discussion
Presenters bring together all of the groups ideas into a summary presentation, providing key takeaways. Open forum discussion and questions to follow. (All participants will receive a summary document after the conclusion of the workshop.)
