Event Overview:
The Higher Education IT and Library hiring landscape in 2024 bears a passing resemblance to the state of affairs in 2019, but the shift to hybrid and remote environments, increased need for new and developing skill sets despite dwindling budgets, and a recognition of the value of more inclusive practices have shifted hiring strategies in major ways.
This panel will explore these transformations, discussing all the phases of the hiring process:
Identifying staffing needs: How have contract, temporary, and flexible staffing models enabled us to innovate despite constrained budgets?
Conducting searches: Whether working with a search firm or your local HR department, how has the process of writing job descriptions, assembling search committees, and running effective interviews (both remote and in-person) changed?
Equitable hiring: What are the most effective techniques for utilizing data to make hiring decisions, and how do we mold and respond to university culture to ensure our candidate’s success?
This webinar will be a useful touchpoint for anyone with a job, looking for a job, or searching for great candidates.
