Rachel Baum
Rachel Baum was the eLearning Librarian and OER Coordinaor at Bay Path University and developed and led Bay Path’s OER initiative. She also served on the leadership committee for OER adoption at Bunker Hill Community College. Her passion for open scholarship, social justice, and intersection of the two inspires and informs her work. She has recently began working as UMass Dartmouth's Social Sciences and Data Services Librarian.


Karen Bellnier
Thinking about learning and designing learning has been my “jam” for a long time. I started exploring it in the informal education field (museums) and, in 2008, transitioned into higher education in instructional design, predominantly in online learning. Previously the Assistant Director of Online Education at Johnson & Wales, this past year I joined the Community College of Rhode Island as the Director of Instructional Technology and Online Learning, a new position.

Incorporating planning for accessibility and universal design has been an area of focus in both places. This year, CCRI rolled out Blackboard’s Ally product and is drafting institutional policy around accessibility and educational technology.


Kate Beverage
Kate's primary responsibility at WPI is to lead outreach efforts with regards to the use of instructional technologies in teaching and learning. Kate also collaborates with academic departments concerning the policies, planning, and management of e-learning and blended initiatives on campus.


Stacey Cohen
Stacy is the Instructional Technologist at Framingham State University. Working with the Education Technology and Instructional Design team, she supports faculty, staff, and students in the appropriate application and implementation of technology in the teaching and learning environment. Stacy’s projects include teaching with mobile devices, supporting the implementation of teaching with technology grants on campus, implementing classroom response systems, and implementing policy and procedures for lecture capture. Most recently, she has been involved in the process of rolling out Blackboard’s Outcomes product for Framingham State University. Stacy earned her Bachelors of Arts in English with a concentration in secondary education from Bridgewater State University and holds a Masters of Education in Education Technology from Framingham State University. As a licensed K12 English teacher-turned-technologist, she has developed a 360-degree view of teaching and learning and is focused on developing effective strategies and designing activities that use technology to help learners access content and develop transferable informational and technological fluency skills essential for success in an ever-changing professional world. Stacy has presented through NERCOMP and at small conferences on topics including best practices for leveraging virtual classroom tools, improving student engagement with mobile technologies, using augmented reality to promote active learning, recruiting and training student workers.


Erin Courville
Erin works collaboratively with Moodle Administrators on backend settings and consults on user interface, user experience, and additional functionality with Moodle that will aid faculty and students.  Erin is responsible for on-boarding all new faculty members at GSC who are schedule to teach a course that is fully online or hybrid and faculty who are teaching in an online format for the first time.  She partners with SMEs to build and design their online courses, leads Moodle orientation for new students, and serves as the Instructional Designer for Keene State College’s new Online Master’s program in Safety.  Erin serves on a rotating team that works to resolve Moodle-related help desk concerns that initiate at various campuses.  Erin enjoys researching solutions to challenges that come across her desk from various clients, instructors and students alike.  Erin was awarded first place honors in  Remote Learner's 2018 Idea-a-Thon for her submission about rubrics & discussion forums in Moodle.


Erin DeSilva
Erin DeSilva, M.Ed., is the Assistant Director of Learning Design and Technology at Dartmouth College. She supports faculty in creating effective and engaging learning experiences through active learning strategies that include peer-led learning, student response technology, and research-based design. She has worked in science and technology education at Brown University, Worcester Polytechnic Institute, the Museum of Science in Boston and a PBS affiliate in Toledo, Ohio. 


Chris Gaudreu
Chris provides teaching and learning experiences for students and faculty both online and on ground through course facilitation & design, and looks for every opportunity to involve educational technologies when the moment is right. He has been working in education, formally and informally, for ten years and most recently received his M.Ed. in Learning, Media and Technology from the University of Massachusetts in 2017.


Jennifer Jones
Jennifer is a Customer Success Manager with Canvas based out of Salt Lake City, Utah.  Jennifer helps support colleges, universities and corporations with the implementation and long term success of Canvas by helping identify long term strategies for student and faculty success.  As a certified Project Management Professional she helps teams focus on creating processes that are scaleable, flexible and student centric.


Teresa Maceira
Head of the Reference, Outreach, and Instruction Department, Healey Library at the University of Massachusetts Boston.

Most recently published a book chapter entitled, Beyond Passive Learning: Utilizing Active Learning Tools for Engagement, Reflection, and Creation in an ACRL publication, Mobile Technology and Academic Libraries: Innovative Services for Research and Learning. The book chapter explores the increasing technology integration into library instruction programs and the role that educational technologies plays in supporting the research needs of the 21st century student and faculty at the University of Massachusetts Boston.

Chair to the New England Information Technology Interest Group (ITIG) in the Association of College & Research Libraries, New England Chapter (ACRL NEC). The mission of ITIG is to develop and promote all types of technologies used in the 21st century library.

Ms. Maceira earned a Master of Science in Library Information Science from Simmons College, and a Bachelor of Arts in History from Rutgers University.


Grace Mah
My name is Grace Mah.  I’m originally from Southwest Virginia and a proud alumni of Virginia Tech.  I’ve been a Moodle administrator for the past 8 years and I’m always excited to still learn new tips and tricks.  Currently I am the Associate Director of Academic Innovation at Bunker Hill Community College.  At BHCC I’ve been fortunate enough to not only be part of our distance education program, but also of our teaching and learning initiatives.  As one of the original members of the OER program here at BHCC, I’m excited to see OER continue to grow and thrive here and really enjoy finding ways to use OER to benefit all our students through the LMS.  

 

Andrea Milligan
Andrea is currently the Director of the Center for Teaching, Learning, and Innovation at North Shore Community College (NSCC). Before coming to NSCC, Andrea was the Director of Academic Technology at Framingham State University, where she worked for over twelve years. Andrea has over fifteen years of practical and theoretical experience in promoting and facilitating the use of technology as an integral part of the total academic experience; helping faculty in the design and development of Web-enhanced, hybrid and online courses; providing professional development opportunities to faculty in using technology effectively in the teaching and learning environment; assisting and supporting faculty and students in the use of academic technology tools; and maintaining an awareness of the latest instructional technologies and emerging technologies that might have an impact on the teaching and learning environment. At NSCC, she works closely with faculty to utilize the learning management system in support of their teaching, assists faculty in the design and development of their online and hybrid courses, and is a member of the Open Textbook Initiative Team and supports faculty in redesigning their courses to make use of open and other free online resources.


Katie Nazarian
Katie is the User Services Librarian at Mitchell College in New London, CT.  Katie administers the college’s MoodleRooms hosted environment including implementation of Mahara as a tool for documenting and assessing student progress through Abilities Based Education.  Katie also supports faculty and students in their use of Moodle through online training resources, group orientation sessions, and deskside coaching.


Robin Robinson
Robin is the Director of Education Technology and Instructional Design at Framingham State University (FSU) reporting to the CIO. At FSU, Robin is responsible for implementing strategies for the integration of technology throughout the curriculum; facilitating related continuous academic improvements based on quality standards and generally accepted best practices regardless of the course delivery modality. Robin earned a Master's degree in Technical and Professional Writing from Northeastern University in Boston. She has presented at both regional and national conferences and co-authored an article in the December 10, 2012, Educause Review and contributed a Case Study to Introduction: Online Learning in Higher Education: The Case for Action, edited by Dr. Richard Kesner. On campus, Robin is the co-facilitator of the FSU Quality Matters course design initiative, leads E-Learning collaborative teams, is an active member of many ITS planning committees and the Center for Excellence in Learning, Teaching, Scholarship and Service (CELTSS). She is an adjunct instructor for continuing education teaching professional development courses on Assistive Technology, Flipping the Classroom and The Digital Child. And an instructor for the Boston Public Schools Pathways Program.

Alexis Skokos (Maylett)
Alexis Skokos, Canvas Regional Director, NorthEast has been with Instructure for three years. Prior to being The Northeast Regional Director, she worked with current customers in evaluating additional products and services to expand Canvas adoption. 


Lindsey Van Gieson
Lindsey has worked in higher education in various capacities for 10 years, and has been at Worcester Polytechnic Institute since 2014.  She holds a B.A. in Integrative Arts, and a M.A. in American History and Museum Studies.  In her current position at WPI, she wears many hats including Canvas administration, outreach, training, and support.  Outside of work, she enjoys board games, photography, hiking, yoga, and spending time with her husband, daughter, 2 dogs and 1 cat.


Mary Wiseman
Mary is an instructional designer who has been teaching and learning online since 1994. She currently works with online faculty, at Bay Path University, to interpret their syllabi into engaging online learning experiences.  Mary holds two master's degrees and a graduate certification and enjoys designing online courses as well as teaching online.
