Did Your LMS Pass the Test? Exploring the Year that Was, and the Year that Will Be - Online Workshop

Jessica Egan
Jessica currently serves as the Coordinator of Instructional Design with Holyoke Community College. She coordinates course design, faculty development, and OER initiatives within HCC’s Center for Excellence and serves on the MA statewide OER Advisory Council. Jessica is a first-gen community college graduate and strongly believes in equity-driven curriculum design and culturally responsive pedagogy. With over a decade of teaching experience, she enjoys working with faculty to bring their vision to life within hybrid, online, and adaptive learning environments.  Jessica has an M.S. in Curriculum and Instruction from Florida State University.


Sara Flink
Sara has worked in the field of education and technology for nearly 10 years, starting as a classroom and educational technology specialist assisting 7th-12th grade students and teachers. Sara then moved into higher education working as an online learning student support coordinator at Bay Path University before moving to Elms College as an online learning specialist. 

Sara currently serves as the Director of Online Learning at Elms, where she is the Moodle LMS administrator and primary support person for students and faculty. Sara is also a member of the Faculty Technology Committee at Elms College and assists instructors with the setup and layout of their course content within the LMS. Sara also created and maintains the online teaching and learning resources page for the college as well as develops and facilitates monthly training and workshops for both in-person and online instructors.

Sara is on track to earn her M.Ed from Elms College in December 2021 and currently has a Certificate in Instructional Design from the University of Wisconsin at Stout. 


Christopher Gaudreau
Chris provides teaching and learning experiences for students and faculty both online and on the ground through course facilitation & design, and every opportunity to involve educational technologies when the moment is right. 

Leveraging Universal Design for Learning and web content accessibility, he supports faculty in designing and updating their courses to provide authentic and engaging experiences for their students. 

He was awarded the ISTE Online Learning award in 2016 for designing and facilitating a massively open online course for 500 global learners as part of a course in his graduate studies. He has also published articles for the eLearning Industry and presented them at round tables and workshops across the Northeast.

Chris received his M.Ed. in the Learning, Media, and Technology concentration at the University of Massachusetts in 2017.


Kyle Stephanie Kraus
Kyle is an Instructional Designer at STCC. Before joining the STCC community in 2018, Kyle was at UMass Amherst for 19 years in positions through Student Affairs to Academic Technology. From 2006- 2018, Kyle served as both Instructional Designer and Technology Training Specialist for the eLearning Online Education at UMass Amherst, where she helped faculty with digital learning development and teaching for online education. She has consulted for Amplify, an education company, and several universities and colleges on teaching and learning in hybrid / online education.

Working in the Center for Online and Digital Learning as an Instructional Designer, she has assisted in the development of online courses, presented workshops on technology use, and worked on projects to promote effective technology use in any classroom; online, hybrid or face-to-face. She loves working with community members to develop effective, informative, and engaging learning experiences.  

Since 2019, she has been adjunct faculty teaching First-Year Experience at STCC. She is a liaison of the Massachusetts College Online (MCO), NERCOMP conference committee, and community member of the All Tech is Human organization.

Kyle attended Colorado State University studying Students Affairs in Higher Education, and the University of Massachusetts Amherst for Educational Technology (M.Ed., 2008). 

Justin Lauzon
Justin is an academic instructional designer and senior member of Tufts University’s online & blended program development team. Since arriving at Tufts in 2016, Justin has worked closely with departments and instructors to produce high-impact student-centered courses across a range of disciplines and is currently focused on the University’s recently launched online master's programs in Computer Science and Data Science.

He has also served in education technology roles with the Massachusetts public higher education system, as an instructional technologist at Framingham State University and the operations director for online learning at Springfield Technical Community College.

Justin’s education includes an M.A. in Higher Education Administration from Boston College and additional graduate coursework in learning design and technology through Harvard University.


Marisha Marks
Marisha Marks is an instructional designer at Springfield Technical and Community College. Marisha has been assisting faculty with online pedagogy and course design for over a decade, learning and teaching about promising practices with student success in mind. Marisha’s area of interest is in accessibility and Universal Design for Learning. She is currently leading the Center for Online and Digital Learning course accessibility initiatives, including deploying the Ally in Blackboard accessibility tool and increasing accessibility awareness through self-paced tutorials, workshops, and book clubs. 

Marisha has an MA in Education from McGill University and a Certificate in Instructional Technology & Design from UMass Boston.

Kristopher Wiemer
Kristopher has been with Holyoke Community College for the past two years serving as the Coordinator of Instructional Technology/Moodle Administrator.  He has over 25 years of experience working in instructional technology and LMS management at public and private higher and secondary educational institutions.  He has taught in STEM areas at both levels via face-to-face and hybrid.  He has an M.Ed. from the University of Massachusetts, a M.A.T. from Marlboro College, and a graduate certificate in educational administration and supervision from Johns Hopkins University/ISTE.


Mary Wiseman
Mary is the Director of Instructional Innovation and Faculty Investment at STCC and has been teaching and learning online for 27 years. She leads the Center for Online & Digital Learning at STCC overseeing the work of instructional designers supporting faculty. As director of professional development, Mary coordinates learning opportunities for faculty and staff to further their own growth aimed at fostering the ultimate success of all STCC students.

Mary is all but dissertation in the pursuit of her Ed.D. from Northeastern University, Boston in the College of Professional Studies with a concentration in Curriculum, Teaching, Learning, and Leadership [CTLL]. Mary’s doctoral program focuses on promising practices for faculty providing online courses at a Hispanic Serving Institution and plans to defend in Spring 2022.
