Event Overview
Do you want to foster positive, inclusive working environments for your team, while increasing capacity for effectively delivering on your shared goals? If so, this workshop is for you.

Collaboratively, we will look at a series of frames to help enhance facets of our leadership mindsets and learn practices that foster positive, inclusive work environments.

In the morning, we will introduce Peter Senge’s generative frame for learning organizations and leadership within such environments. We’ll then contrast courageous vulnerability (as a key to cultivating trust, respect, and better decision-making within the team) vs. fragility (that can come up for all of us in situations that elicit our defenses).

The afternoon will focus on Emotional Intelligence (EQ) and how important it is to great leadership. We will have an opportunity to actively reflect and enhance our awareness and skillsets. These frames and reflective practices are essential for our own development as leaders and for success in creating environments where diverse teams thrive and bringing out the best that team members have to contribute.

Session Outcomes:
  - Learn tools for thinking about and developing organizational practices around emotional intelligence in the workplace; including equity and inclusion, and growth mindset at the individual and organizational levels.
  - Increase your awareness and capabilities with key practices of self-regulation, awareness of others, empathy, and other EQ skill sets.
  - Understand how using the learning organization frame, creating leaders as emotionally intelligent co-designers of their organizations, and mentoring in multiple directions can help us to create diverse, equitable, and inclusive work environments that serve our teams and our institutions at a higher level.
