Strengthening Your Leadership EQ Can Enable the Creation of Inclusive and Effective Learning Organizations

Participants will have the chance to voice goals related to the session and the overall topic of bringing emotional intelligence into leadership to cultivate inclusive and effective teams.

9:15am - 10:15am   Learning Organization Framework 
Review of Senge's generative framework and exploration of the leader's new work as a designer, teacher, and steward in the learning organization.

10:15am - 10:30am   Morning Break

10:30am - 11:30am   Vulnerability vs. Fragility in Leadership and Teams
Thinking together about Brené Brown's encouragement to embrace vulnerability as a way to enhance leadership and team communication and innovation, and how this form of "vulnerability" relates to the "fragility" that Robin DiAngelo articulates as a common set of defense mechanisms that maintain the status quo and create disconnections between people

12:30pm - 2:45 pm   Emotional Intelligence for Leaders
Identify and assess our abilities in each of the EQ quadrants via team exercises. We will also discuss methods and strategies to help us embrace EQ at all levels and identify the influence it can have on creating a more Diverse, Equitable and Inclusive community.

2:45pm - 3:00pm   Wrap-up / Takeaways/Aspirations for Future Sessions
A chance for participants to name particular ideas and tools each person hopes to bring into local work practices.
