Event Overview
With changes in Higher Education now accelerated by the pandemic, Academic Libraries are forced to rethink their role within the university learning ecosystem. Libraries - an instructional support role - have strong incentives to contribute to student success.

Prior to the session, we'll ask participants to provide faculty requests for library instruction that can be used during the session. In this session, we'll show how typical university course instruction poses both challenges to teaching and learning and offers opportunities for improvement.  We'll use the faculty requests provided and help Librarians to apply Learning Science, Design, and Change Management to those requests;  providing examples of methods to intervene and contribute to desired learning outcomes in collaboration with faculty.

To complete our Day One and Day Two agendas—see below—we ask participants to send examples of instruction requests to vamin@bentley.edu

These are the parameters:
 -
We aim to select up to 5 requests for the workshop.  We are looking for requests in which Librarians see an opportunity to create interventions that support learning.   To this end, we need to create the context of the request.  Please include or be ready to discuss the following:
-Learning goals of the assignment, or learning goals of the course
 - Learning solution that removes a barrier to learning and helps students achieve a learning goal
 - Librarian as an active participant in the intervention, and as a collaborator with the faculty/instructor.
- Assignments from Syllabus, the actual email, the form, or any material that documents the learning assignment (Please check with University before sharing actual documents, or paraphrase the information into notes.)

Session Outcomes:
 - Learn how to apply Learning Science and Design concepts and best practices.
 - Identify opportunities to collaborate and enhance teaching and learning.
 - Use tools and methods to design learning experiences and meet challenges regardless of format: face-to-face, online, or hybrid.
