Speaker: Mark Berman

Mark Berman is Chief Information Officer at Siena College where he is responsible for all aspects of Information Technology and telecommunications. He came to Siena from MCLA where he also served as CIO. Prior to that he worked at Williams College where he was Director for Networks and Systems for many years.

Mark has an MS in Telecommunications and Network Management and a BS in Computer Science. He has worked in various capacities with information systems, data networks, and telecommunications for over twenty five years and has been active in professional organizations for most of that time.

Mark serves on the board of directors for Nercomp, and on the Program Committees for Educause2 Identity CAMP, and NYSCIO. In the past he has served on the board of the Consortium of Liberal Arts Colleges. He is also active in Educause where he shares the chairpersonship of the Strategic Planning constituent group, and served on the 2010 annual conference program committee. Mark has been a frequent presenter at workshops and conferences of all these organizations.

 

Speaker: Gayleen Gray

Gayleen Gray is the Associate Director, IT Strategy and Partnerships for Computing and Communications Services (CCS), the central IT organization at the University of Guelph in Guelph, Ontario, Canada. Her focus is on partnerships, strategic planning, organizational development, and enterprise level IT processes and projects. Gayleen is accountable for three key areas within CCS: Enterprise Applications, Business Solutions and Applications and Integration. Much of her work involves collaborating with senior management across the academic and administrative areas on campus in order to enable them to achieve their goals by providing guidance and direction on their unique IT needs.

Gayleen actively seeks opportunities to learn and share with her peers across higher education IT. She is currently one of three EDUCAUSE Strategic Planning Constituent Group Leaders (2013), and has participated in and presented at various conferences, including EDUCAUSE Mid Atlantic Regional Conference, CanHEIT (Canadian Higher Education IT) Conference, SIGUCCS Management Symposium, the Ontario Universities Computing Conference (OUCC), and ResNet Symposium (ResNet Student Computing Conference). She is a past ResNet Symposium Program Chair, Assistant Program Chair and Senti-Merriman Chair and past OUCC Local Arrangements Committee Chair. She has attended the EDUCAUSE Management Institute and the Centre for Higher Education Research and Development University Manager Course.
 


Speaker: Jane Linvingston

As Associate CIO at Yale Jane oversees Campus Community Technologies (CCT), an enterprise technologies unit focused on providing the Yale Community with solid, integrated, discoverable and reusable online services and environments. CCT includes enterprise content management and portal technologies, cloud app services, and project and portfolio management services, as well as support for a suite of legacy and digital business applications.
Formerly, Jane was Director of Strategy, Governance and e-services in the Office of the CIO at Yale. In this role, she oversaw strategic planning for university IT, coordinated IT governance processes, capital investments and university IT oversight, and managed the capital project portfolio including the PMO. Prior to this she was Director of Planning in Finance and Business Operations and Associate Director for IT Communications at Yale, where she managed messaging and web services.

Before joining Yale, Jane worked at Vassar College in Academic Technology, at IBM and at Boeing. She holds an MS in Information Management from Syracuse University and a BA in History and Women's Studies from Wichita State University. Jane loved her time as a NERCOMP Sigmaster and has participated in many Educause and Nercomp programs. She is also a fellow of the Leading Change Institute (2013).
 


Speaker: Nadine Stern

Nadine began her career in Career Services after which she went on to positions in academic advising and then Records and Registration at the University of San Francisco and the University of Buffalo, where she made a career shift from student services to information technology. Her next move was to Rutgers University where Nadine spent 11 years in Administrative Computing. Nadine joined TCNJ in 1996 as Associate VP for Student Services and Administrative Systems. In this capacity Nadine advanced computing in support of student services at The College, with the introduction of web based services for students and faculty, and led the implementation of PeopleSoft financial, human resource and student administration systems. In January, 2000 Nadine became Vice President for Information Technology and Enrollment Services, responsible for Information Technology, Records and Registration, Student Financial Services and the Center for Institutional Effectiveness. In April 2011, Nadine became Associate CIO for Operations and Planning in the Office of Information Technology at Princeton University, where she is responsible for planning, strategic communication, technology consulting services, budget and finance, organizational effectiveness, and the information security advisor. Nadine is active in Educause having served on the Current Issues Committee, the EQ review Board, the 2012 program Committee, Ryland Fellowship Committee, the Mid Atlantic Regional Conference Program Committee, and AGEISS. She currently serves on the Connect Program Committee and the Hawkins Leadership Roundtable and shares the chair role of the Strategic Planning Constituent Group.
