Event Overview

Even well-trained, seasoned online instructors need support in order to be successful in the online classroom. Institutions offering online programs benefit greatly by providing continued support and ongoing professional development opportunities to their online faculty. This workshop will feature presentations by online learning and instructional technology professionals who will share their experiences, challenges and success strategies for providing high-quality support to online instructors. Presentations and discussions will focus on best practices and innovative thinking in online faculty support.

Time will be provided for attendee interaction, discussion and networking. Attendees will leave the workshop with new ideas for ways to build or enhance their institutions’ online faculty support services.

Learning Outcomes:
By participating in this professional development opportunity, attendees will be able to:
- Evaluate the benefits of providing on-going support and professional development opportunities for online faculty
- Brainstorm techniques for providing effective development opportunities at a distance
- Articulate strategies to motivate faculty to improve their online courses and teaching styles
- Discuss the successes and challenges experienced by colleagues engaged in online faculty development
