Supporting Faculty Teaching Online

Speaker: Lance Eaton

Lance Eaton is Coordinator of Instructional Design at North Shore Community College. He has advance degrees in American Studies and Public Administration. Currently, he is finishing his Masters of Education in Instructional Design. He has written for digital, popular, trade and academic publications while presenting at local, national and international conferences on such topics as audiobooks, comics, literature, history, horror, online pedagogy, online identities, social media, and universal design.


Speaker: Gail McKenna

Gail McKenna is the Senior Director of Instructional Design and Faculty Support at the American Women's College at Bay Path University. She is responsible for course development using adaptive learning technology and other tools for online learning. She also trains faculty in the use of these tools, and in incorporating outcomes based assessment across the curricula. McKenna has a BA in Studio Art from Trinity College, a MA in French Literature from the University of Connecticut and an MEd in Educational Computing from the University of Hartford. She taught French and Web Design on the secondary level and has an extensive background in professional development and implementing best practices in the classroom.


Speaker: Andrea Milligan

Andrea Milligan is the Director of Instructional Technology and Design at North Shore Community College. Before coming to North Shore Community College, Andrea was the Director of Academic Technology at from Framingham State University, where she worked for over twelve years. Andrea has over ten years of practical and theoretical experience in promoting and facilitating the use of technology as an integral part of the total academic experience; helping faculty in the design and development of Web-enhanced, hybrid and online courses; providing professional development opportunities to faculty in using technology effectively in the teaching and learning environment; assisting and supporting faculty and students in the use of academic technology tools; and maintaining an awareness of the latest instructional technologies and emerging technologies that might have an impact on the teaching and learning environment.


Speaker: Gerol Petruzella

Gerol Petruzella holds a Ph.D. (2008, SUNY at Buffalo) in ancient philosophy. His professional interests include the intersection of education, open access, and privacy; games and gaming in the classroom; ancient Greek language and literature; and the roles of the humanities in digital environments.


Speaker: Brian Salerno

Brian Salerno, MS is the Director of Online Learning and Assessment, the Academic Program Chair for the M.S. in Online Instructional Design and Technology, and a faculty member at Brandeis University, Division of Graduate Professional Studies. He is currently responsible for managing the online learning and instructional design infrastructure for the university and leading the Online Programs and Instructional Design unit at the school. Brian has significant background in online program development, academic technology, faculty development, and leadership of cross-functional teams. Brian has over a decade of experience designing, developing, assessing, and teaching online courses and programs at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Brian's academic focus is primarily in the fields of instructional design, communications, technology, and interactive media.


Speaker: Mary Wiseman

Mary Wiseman is the Online Course Builder at Bay Path University’s Center for Online & Digital Learning, a Division of Research and Academic Resources. She provides online course development services to faculty and assists faculty in integrating multimedia, technology and collaborative activities to create innovative and engaging online learning. Ms. Wiseman graduated from the New School for Social Research in New York City with a B.A. in Social Sciences and an M.A. in Media Studies. She additionally holds a Graduate Certification in Instructional Design from the University of Wisconsin/Stout and is pursuing another M.S. in Higher Education Administration with a concentration in online learning.
