Building Better Services with User Research

User research and other UX activities are vitally important to the success of tech companies. So why don't we utilize them more in higher ed? Zero Trust Network Architecture and Secure Application Access, what does it all mean??

Zero Trust Network Architecture (ZTNA) and Secure Application Access (SAA) are buzzwords that have been floating around for years. When it comes to vendors, ZTNA especially is the best example of the phrase "When you're a hammer, everything looks like a nail." My point is that how to implement ZTNA and improve security controls varies wildly and can be confusing. In this presentation I will take a vendor agnostic approach to presenting and weighing all the decisions you have to make when securing your institution. We will walk through each area of defense and talk about advantages of different approaches. We will also discuss how to evaluate institutional priorities and how to make incremental progress without "boiling the ocean."

Diversity in Technology

Do you want to promote diversity and inclusion in your institution, but don't know where to start? Come to this session to learn how WPI's IT department created a 100% digital program to showcase the contributions historically underrepresented people have made to STEM. The presenters will share their lessons learned so you can create a similar program at your own institution.
