This session will introduce unconscious (or “implicit”) bias with the goal of reducing its impact, especially in workplace environments. Attendees will be engaged in presentation and discussion around how unconscious bias impacts individuals and groups in workplaces, how unconscious bias is created and perpetuated, and what one can do to combat one’s own biases. Practical tools will also be introduced.

In the session, you will explore the benefits of using choice boards to promote interactive integrative learning through an example from an interdisciplinary course. After a demonstration, you will practice creating a choice board. The session will conclude with feedback, questions, and discussion from attendees.
