Library instructional support for online faculty and students

In response to a university strategic priority to grow the number of online programs, the DiMenna-Nyselius Library of Fairfield University has spent significant time the last few years developing digital instructional resources. In addition to developing the resources themselves, work included evaluating and selecting educational technology, establishing standards and procedures, training Librarians and staff, and determining data collection methods. This webinar will provide an overview of the resources, describe the process and plans for future projects, and offer reflections and important considerations to Librarians preparing for similar work.

Creating Interactive, Integrative, and Engaging Online Content With Choice Boards

Do you want to create interactive, integrative, and engaging content for your online course? In this session, you will discover the benefits of choice boards, learn how to create a board, and leave with resources to continue creating choice boards for your course. Providing choice enhances learning by increasing engagement, motivation, and can support communication and collaboration. Choice boards support the Universal Design for Learning. In the session, you will explore the benefits of using choice boards to promote interactive integrative learning through an example from an interdisciplinary course. Zero Trust Network Architecture and Secure Application Access, what does it all mean??

Zero Trust Network Architecture (ZTNA) and Secure Application Access (SAA) are buzzwords that have been floating around for years. When it comes to vendors, ZTNA especially is the best example of the phrase "When you're a hammer, everything looks like a nail." My point is that how to implement ZTNA and improve security controls varies wildly and can be confusing. In this presentation I will take a vendor agnostic approach to presenting and weighing all the decisions you have to make when securing your institution. We will walk through each area of defense and talk about advantages of different approaches. We will also discuss how to evaluate institutional priorities and how to make incremental progress without "boiling the ocean."

Diversity in Technology

Do you want to promote diversity and inclusion in your institution, but don't know where to start? Come to this session to learn how WPI's IT department created a 100% digital program to showcase the contributions historically underrepresented people have made to STEM. The presenters will share their lessons learned so you can create a similar program at your own institution.
